Diagnostics

As part of our comprehensive, feline-exclusive veterinary care, we rely on the most advanced diagnostic tools available, such as digital radiography, ultrasound, echocardiography and endoscopy. Our veterinarians are trained in the use of these advanced diagnostic tools which could save you a trip to a referral veterinary practice.

Ultrasound

This non-invasive, state-of-the-art technology uses sound waves to painlessly examine specific internal organs, primarily the heart and abdominal organs. Pregnancy exams are also available.

Digital Radiography Imaging

The addition of digital radiography to our animal hospital has pushed us a quantum step forward in the way x-ray images are processed and viewed. The fast capture speeds of our x-ray unit and the elimination of film processing and handling have made our radiology service second to none. The resolution is also improved and the images are electronically transferred (via the internet) to our board-certified radiologist for expert interpretation.

As a result, your pet’s x-rays are completed more quickly, with greater accuracy, and with less stress. Rapid and accurate diagnoses equate to a shorter-than-average pet hospital stay for our patients.

Sedation and Medication

Although our diagnostic tools are not painful for your cat, we use sedatives and analgesics (pain killers) to facilitate the process. For accuracy, your pet must be calm, relaxed, and comfortable.

An x-ray can be taken in a split second, so any movement from your cat can result in a “blurred” image. In some cases (for example, x-rays of the skull), full anesthesia will be necessary to ensure the best possible result.
