About AAHA

AAHA

The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) is the only organization that accredits veterinary practices in the United States, and that accreditation is contingent on meeting over 900 stringent standards of veterinary care. At Tampa Bay Animal Hospitals, we always strive to practice the highest standard of veterinary medicine possible. This is why all six of our independently owned veterinary hospitals have voluntarily achieved accreditation.

Accreditation is Voluntary

The veterinary industry doesn’t have requirements for standards of care like human medicine does, so receiving this prestigious level of accreditation is entirely voluntary – in fact, only 12-15% of veterinary hospitals are currently voluntarily AAHA-accredited.

Our family of Tampa Bay Animal Hospitals have elected to undergo this accreditation because it’s better for our patients and their pet parents. The standards we adhere to for accreditation from the American Animal Hospital Association include all aspects of patient care, pain management, team training, surgical protocols, and recordkeeping.  As a pet owner, you can have the peace of mind that your furry family member will have excellent care on every level.

Ongoing Innovation

All of our hospitals undergo biennial evaluation from the American Animal Hospital Association in order to maintain accreditation. AAHA’s standards are continuously updated, which keeps our team members practicing at the forefront of the profession.  Our team members are all consistently trained and evaluated, which means that no matter which location you visit, your pet will benefit from the most cutting edge information and evidence-based protocols.

AAHA accreditation is a prestigious distinction that we’re proud of!  To learn more about why an accredited hospital is so important for your pet, click here.
