Dr. Chris Smithson has completed a formal residency training program in veterinary dentistry and oral/maxillofacial surgery. He is currently working toward board certification with the American Veterinary Dental College and the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry. He has lectured at local and national veterinary conferences and has published articles in the Journal of Veterinary Dentistry.

Dr Smithson is excited to return to the Tampa Bay area where he worked in general practice for several years. His combined 10 years of specialty training and general practice experience have uniquely positioned him to provide primary dental care as well as specialized care in dentistry and oral surgery. Dr. Smithson welcomes existing clients to bring their pets in for evaluation of:

• salivary gland disorders
• cleft palate surgery
• developmental dental abnormalities
• brachycephilc airway syndrome

Dr. Smithson is available for consultations at North Bay Animal and Bird Hospital, Temple Terrace Animal and Bird Hospital, Pebble Creek Animal and Bird Hospital, and The Cat Doctors on a rotating basis. He may be contacted through these hospitals.
